Arlington Garden Club - supporting our local communities

An Active Community-Service Organization

In addition to the social opportunities it offers, the Arlington Garden Club is active in the local communities where our members live.

Our volunteers, which currently total approximately 100 members, work hard throughout the year on fundraising events to support local programs. Since 1924, for example, we have provided:

  • $30,000 in scholarships to local youth.
  • More than $28,500 to school FFA programs, food banks, and horticulture and environmental organizations.

Read more about our two major fundraising events, the Holiday Garden Art and Crafts and the Annual Plant Sale.

Potting Day - To be Held on May 17

For the past five years, AGC has participated in Potting Day held in May at Sunnyside Nursery. Our members volunteer to plant (for free) pots for customers who purchase their plants on the day the nursery offers its annual "container class."  This year's event is Saturday, May 17, 2025.

The Mayor's Garden, located in front of Arlington City Hall on Olympic Avenue, is  planted and maintained by AGC members.

Over the years the club has supported various civic beautification projects, including plantings along the Centennial Trail.

Throughout the summer our garden club members' share the bounty of their gardens and donate extra blooms. Flowers are delivered to a local senior assisted living facility for residents to create bouquets to decorate their apartments.
