In 1934, 24 ladies wearing hats and gloves, intent on creating beauty in home gardens and public places, founded the Arlington Garden Club. In April of that year, members planted their first perennial garden in Terrace Park.
Today, the legacy lives on. Our membership has grown to include nearly 100 members, who support a variety of projects. In addition to our many community service projects, the club continues its efforts to maintain the Mayor’s Garden and and Community Garden in Arlington, WA.
During the first year, members also sold plants and bulbs to raise funds to support activities. In recent years, our annual Plant Sale remains as a major source of funds as is the Holiday Garden Art and Crafts. These fundraisers support the club's community service projects including our scholarship program.
