Our Meetings and activities

Who we are . . .

Arlington Garden Club (AGC) is a meeting place where like-minded people join together and share their love of all things gardening and the great outdoors.  View a list of upcoming meetings and activities, click here.

Our luncheon meetings

The monthly luncheons are held at Gleneagle Family Restaurant, Arlington, WA. Program fee: $25 per person. Note: For special diets, you may call ahead and order a meal.

  • 11 am - Social
  • 11:20 am - Business Meeting
  • Noon - Lunch
  • 12:45 pm - Program
  • 1:45 pm - Raffle
  • 2 pm- Adjourn

Guests are welcome! The public and guests of members are always welcome at our meetings. The two exceptions are the December Holiday Meeting and the June Fling, our last meeting of the year, where you must be a member to attend.

  • Social time and raffle. This is a good time to welcome new members and meet up with garden club friends. You can also purchase optional raffle tickets for a chance to win items donated by members or browse the free book exchange table.

  • Business report. At each meeting, a report is given on activities of the board and committees as well as upcoming events and projects.

  • Program.  The main program, which covers topics selected by our members, is presented by gardening experts and  speakers from around the Puget Sound area.

  • Sharing. Members are encouraged to bring items from their garden for 'show and tell.' These can range from simple cuttings placed in a vase to more elaborate arrangements. They are placed on tables as centerpieces to enjoy. You will also be given the opportunity to describe and name the flora and foliage in your arrangement.

Field trips and fun things to do

The activities committee organizes fun things to do, including nursery field trips and craft days, throughout the year. We've found that members enjoy additional opportunities to get to know one another and share common interests. Photos of some of our recent activities can be found under AGC Club Happenings.

We also hold annual members only garden tours. Lately, we've added some virtual garden tours as well. Enjoy!

Community Service

In addition to social opportunities, the Arlington Garden Club is active in the local community. The club's fundraising events support local scholarships and community beautification projects among other contributions voted on by the board. Read more information about our two major fundraising events, the Annual Plant Sale and the Holiday Garden Art and Crafts. AGC's June Fling Event

Celebrating Our Accomplishments

In June, we celebrate our last meeting of the year before our summer break. Note: Our AGC year runs from June to June.

A special thanks to everyone involved with this year's June Fling (held June 9), which had a Farmer's Market theme. It was a wonderful success - beautifully decorated tables, a wonderful auction (which supports our fundraising for the scholarship program and other community causes), the entertainment, and more. A big shout out to Kathy Harkins, who organized this year's event. It was truly one of our best yet!

During the June event, we introduce the AGC officers for the coming year. We also recognize our scholarship winners and announce the winner of AGC's annual Roberta Lothian Member of the Year Award.
