Making a Difference in Our Community
Growing food. In addition to the other community organizations we support, many AGC members are active in local food bank programs. Included is the Gardeners Sharing Abundance (GSA), a community group of local volunteers who grow crops at Andrew's Hay in Arlington, WA.
Freshly grown produce is donated to the local food bank as part of their regular food distribution process. Last year, this garden plot raised over 15,000 pounds of fresh, delicious produce that was donated to the Arlington Food Bank!

Other efforts. AGC volunteers also join in collecting donated food items from local businesses and participate in regular sorting and packaging of bulk items into smaller portions.
It's all about supporting our neighbors. And it makes sense! After all, we know how to grow things, and we keep busy in our local communities.

Growing food for neighbors - Volunteers always welcome!
Starting in mid-April, AGC volunteers help during the many planting days at Andrew's Farm in Arlington as part of Gardeners Sharing Abundance (GSA).
Their efforts continue until fall harvest, with efforts also requiring weeding and watering, and harvesting. It's all about sharing the bounty of the earth with others.
