Arlington GArden Club - Supporting our local communities

In addition to the social opportunities it offers, the Arlington Garden Club is active in the local communities where our members live. Our volunteers, which currently total more than 100 members, work hard throughout the year on fundraising events to support local programs. During the last 10 years (as of year-end 2025), for example, we have provided:

  • $35,500 in scholarships to local youth.
  • $29,000 to community programs or organizations. Recent examples include: local high school FFA programs, food banks, the City of Arlington for beautification efforts, WSU Foundation programs (both Forestry and Northwest Research and Extension Services), Sarvey Wildlife Care Center, and the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens.

Read more about our two major fundraising events, the Holiday Garden Art and Crafts and the Annual Plant Sale.

Potting Day at Sunnyside Nursery

For the past five years, AGC has participated in Potting Day held in May at Sunnyside Nursery. Our members volunteer to plant (for free) pots for customers who purchase their plants on the day the nursery offers its annual "container class."  Read more.

Food for Neighbors - Supporting The Local Food Bank

AGC members are also busy supporting local food bank in a variety of way - collecting food items from local businesses and even helping to grow crops at a local farm. Read more.
